Citywide Adaptive Signal Control System

City of Federal Way, WA

Transpo led a federally-funded project for ASC systems at 57 Federal Way intersections. The systems engineering process, including stakeholder engagement, led to selecting the SCOOT ASC system. Concurrently, Transpo developed PS&E docs for detection and communications upgrades supporting ASC. Additionally, Transpo designed a variable lane use control system at four intersections compatible with ASC, optimizing traffic operations. Currently, Transpo supports the City in the final stages of system turn-on, fine-tuning, and evaluation for both systems.

Smart Mobility Plan

City of Bellevue, WA

Transpo played a key role in crafting Bellevue's Smart Mobility Plan, a strategic deployment plan encompassing over 30 ITS projects and six smart mobility initiatives. The plan addressed future city needs, incorporating recommendations for ITS upgrades, public-private data sharing, Vision Zero, and advancements in connected, autonomous, and electric vehicles.

Cascade Gateway Advanced Border Information System

Whatcom Council of Governments (WCOG)

Transpo is leading the systems engineering effort for the design of a new Border Wait Time (BWT) system to replace and improve the aging BWT systems at the four primary US-Canada border crossings between BC and WA. This project will involve close collaboration with WCOG, WSDOT, BC MOTI, USCBP, and CBSA to develop a binational BWT system that will solve current system challenges, improve accuracy and reliability, and support additional features.
