Extensive data collection allowed for evaluating current school travel patterns and walking and biking connectivity assessments, which led to suggested circulation improvements. The team also supported a transportation impact study, identifying potential off-site mitigation measures. Bus Routing and Optimization Northshore School District As one of Washington State's largest districts, Northshore School District manages numerous buses for school transport, inter-school programs, and extracurricular activities. Transpo optimized school bus routing for start time policy changes by testing busing scenarios aligned with time goals, assisting in the implementation phase to ensure efficient transportation for the growing student population, including specialized services for students with disabilities. Fife Elementary and High School Fife School District Transpo assisted the school district in design and permitting for a new elementary school co-located with Fife High School. Several scenarios were evaluated to best locate the building, parking areas, and maximize safe pick up and drop off activities. A signalized access for both the elementary and high schools was designed by Transpo. Transpo played a key role in negotiating traffic mitigation requirements with the City. The safety-focused improvements includes infill and new location sidewalk, raised cycle track, shared use path, and improved crossing designs that are inclusive of a wide range of users, but accommodate existing land use, parking and vehicle traffic. S Wenatchee Ave Bicycle Connectivity Chelan-Douglas Transportation Council Transpo evaluated alternatives for low-stress bicycle improvements on S Wenatchee Avenue and connecting corridors in South Wenatchee. The scope of the study included bilingual public engagement, identification of feasible alternatives, selection criteria and a preferred alternative. The recommended design included a mix of buffered bike lanes, protected cycle tracks and off-street connections. Parkview Safe Routes to School City of Bellingham, WA Transpo developed plans, specifications and an estimate, implementing recommendations of a corridor planning study Transpo conducted prior to the City obtaining federal Safe Routes to School funding for the project. The design includes new location and infill sidewalks, bike lanes, roundabout conversion of a signal, curb ramps, raised and RRFB crossings, roadway realignment and illumination. Transportation Master Plan Seattle Children's Hospital To better serve an increasing volume of patients, Seattle Children’s Hospital developed a master plan to double the existing size. The transportation impacts of the expansion on the surrounding residential neighborhood were evaluated. Transpo developed 9 alternatives and prepared an EIS. Redmond Campus Rebuild Microsoft Transpo was an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team that developed a master plan for 3 million square feet of new office space on Microsoft’s East Campus in Redmond. Comprehensive traffic analysis was critical in determining the number, location and type of site access and evaluating on-site vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle circulation. Goals included understanding what contributes to congestion and safety concerns in the area, what challenges users face, and identifying potential solutions to improve conditions and safety for all. The ultimate vision for this study is to meet the needs of people that live, work, and travel through the study area. SR 516 Corridor Study City of Covington, WA/WSDOT Transpo partnered with WSDOT and the City of Covington on a corridor study of SR 516. The corridor is less than one-half mile in length and includes five closely spaced signalized intersections, including on/off-ramps for SR 18. The study evaluated options that included traffic operations, safety, multimodal connectivity, constructability, and environmental impacts. I-5 Skagit Transportation Study WSDOT Transpo assisted the WSDOT Northwest Region Mount Baker Area in completing the Phase 1 effort of the I-5 Skagit Transportation Study, to address capacity and safety performance issues along a 9-mile-long corridor that runs through the urban areas of Mount Vernon and Burlington in Skagit County.
