Safety
Safety isn’t just a component of our work. It's a central pillar for every project and task we take on.
Safety Vision
Transpo strives to achieve the lofty goals of Vision Zero and Target Zero which does not accept any serious injuries or fatalities on transportation facilities as inevitable or acceptable. To meet this vision for a safer transportation system, in all of our planning and engineering work, we consider the needs of the most vulnerable users, a range of intended or likely transportation modes, users of all abilities and with mobility and equity challenges.

A Focus on Safety
As credentialed safety experts with a passion for practical, creative solutions that address urgent safety needs, Transpo’s Safety Practice places a high value on intentional, data-based planning and design of safety improvements for our clients. We understand how to leverage available grant funding to stretch our clients’ resources and to make important systemic improvements in a targeted, effective manner that address the highest risks for future crashes and injuries.

Road Safety Professionals
Our team has three credentialed safety professionals certified from the Transportation Professional Certification Board demonstrating our commitment to going above and beyond the traditional approaches to engineering of roadway corridors for safety.
Local Road Safety Plan
City of Covington
Transpo identified risk factors leading to safety focused projects, including a program of adding RRFBs and speed feedback signs at City roundabouts, and addressing corridors with a combination of transit and active mode crashes. Transpo’s countermeasures included a corridor design of active mode improvements that was also submitted to the Safe Routes to School program and was selected for funding through that program.
