The facility processes bulk commodities including alumina and cement. Once constructed, the upgrades would result in increased site activity, including additional train traffic via unit trains and additional employee traffic.

Transpo prepared a traffic impact analysis for a new 600-megawatt combined-cycle gas turbine facility on a 625 acre site adjacent to US 12. Transpo identified transportation impacts during construction and normal plant operation traffic generation on nearby roadways by evaluating intersection and driveway operations.

Transpo led a traffic impact analysis for construction of a rail yard including a 500,000 SF manufacturing area and 400,000 SF warehousing area. The yard is used to store and ship local agriculture across the country via rail and trucks. The analysis considered existing and future impacts on roadway conditions, intersection operations and traffic safety. The study also examined trip generation and distribution for various vehicle types.
